Laying Patterns
Your
choice of laying pattern will depend on your range of paving and the
size and shape of your patio. For a completely random patio choose
from paving with five or more sizes of stone, eg Old Town Flagstone
Paving and Wetherdale Paving. However, it is possible to create a
random area from ranges with only three sizes, eg Old Riven. The
laying patterns show the approximate finished size for a selection
of random patios. The chart gives the number of paving stones needed
for each design.
Joint Widths
The
sizes and quantities given throughout the catalog allow a nominal
1/2" joint width. When laying random paving and circles, and in
particular Wetherdale and Old Town with their fettled edges, joint
widths will depend on the paving type and laying pattern chosen and
will be variable - from aproximate ½” to 1”.
The
dimensions given for the random patterns and circles on these pages
are therefore only approximate and dry laying first is always
recommended.
